Carry On

Everyone's changing,
but here I am,
staying the same,
getting left behind.

Left alone in the dust,
while everyone else moves on.

It is hard for me to let things go,
and just move on with my life.

I am afraid I have been hurt too much,
cut too deep,
scarred..

They all tell me to keep my chin up,
I am trying,
but how can I when every little sliver of happiness I gain,
fades to darkness..?

"It will be okay,"
I keep telling myself.
"You will find the strength to carry on."
